Despite LG being a household name as a computer manufacturer for close to twenty years, today marks the first ever gaming PC from the company.
The LG UltraGear 17G90Q marks LG's first foray into PC gaming in the traditional clamshell laptop form factor but the company is sparing no expense in loading its notebook with the latest and greatest specs around.
Starting with a 17-inch IPS LCD panel that's loaded with a 300Hz refresh rate screen and a 1 millisecond response time the LG UltraGear 17G90Q should make excellent use of the 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake CPU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q GPU and dual M.2 SSD slots.
In addition, LG is embedding its own UltraGear Studio software which enable customers to tweak items such as CPU clock, GPU TDP and clock, memory share rates and more, all in real time. Other personalization's come to the UltraGear 17G90Q in the form of a fully programable RGB keyboard.
Presumably, LG will cover the UltraGrear with greater detail at CES 2022 in the coming weeks, but for now, we know that the 17G90Q is made of aluminum with a thickness of 0.84 inches and weighing just a hair under six pounds at 5.952 and will support DTS:X Ultra three-dimensional sound and Intel "Killer" Wireless for improved wireless connectivity.
A few other intangibles of the 17G90Q include an FDH webcam with dual mic array and IR camera with Windows Hello support, fingerprint reader on the power button, two Thunderbolt 4 (TBT4) ports as well as a Gen 2 Type-C port, two Type-A and full HDMI connecting port.
Customers in Korea and the US will be among the first eligible to buy the LG 17G90Q during the first quarter of 2022, with other markets opening up when available.
